Mihai Dascalu (University Politehnica Bucharest – President term of office 31 December 2027
is a full professor at University Politehnica and a former Senior Fulbrighter at Arizona State University. Mihai holds a double PhD with the highest distinctions in Computer Science and Educational Sciences, with his thesis published as book in Springer, Studies in Computational Intelligence. He has extensive experience in national and international research projects with more than 200 published papers, including 20+ articles at top-tier conferences (AAAI, CogSci, AIED, ITS, CSCL), 55 papers indexed ISI at renowned international conferences (ICALT, EC-TEL, ICWL, ISPDC, AIMSA), and 10 Q1 journal papers.
Tania Di Mascio (University of L’Aquila – IT – term of office 31 December 2025
is Associate Professor at the Department of Engineering Computer Science and Mathematics of University of L’Aquila, Italy. She obtained a Ph.D. working on HCI research field and she awarded a master’s degree in Electronic Engineering. She cooperated with national and international research institutes. Her primary research activities are in HCI, user interface usability and accessibility, as well as in TEL, with a focus on information visualization and interaction paradigms. She was coordinator of several European projects. She is author or co-author of more than 100 papers in peer-reviewed journals and international and national conferences. She is a member of Committees of international and national conferences. She is in the Editorial Board of International Journal on HCI and TEL research fields.
Gabriella Dodero (ASLERD Italia) – term of office 31 December 2025
till 2017 has been Full Professor in Computer Science at the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano, Faculty of Computer Science, and Vice-Rector for Studies of UniBZ. Her recent research work was devoted to technology enhanced learning for university and schools, with a focus on computer science education.
Oscar Meahla (University of Aveiro – PT) – Deputy President – term of office 31 December 2025
is Full Professor at the Department of Communication and Art, University of Aveiro, Portugal. He develops his research in the area of ‘Information and Communication in Digital Platforms’ in the context of ‘Knowledge Media and Connected Communities’
Donatella Persico (ITD-CNR) – term of office 31 December 2027
was research director and now associated researcher at CNR-ITD. She has been active in the field of educational technology since 1981. Her major research interests include learning design, e-learning, self-regulated learning, teacher training, game-based learning and learning analytics. She was research fellow at Bradford and Exeter university, UK, Glasgow Caledonian Academy, UK, and at the Universidade de Santiago e Compostela, Spain. She has been involved in several teacher training programmes as a lecturer in educational technology. She is author of educational material and scientific publications of various kinds, including books, educational software, multimedia material and research papers concerning various aspects of educational technology. She is editor of the Italian Journal of Educational Technology and sits on the editorial board of international and national journals, and has a long standing experience in the management of national and international projects.

is Professor for Practical Informatics at the University of Rostock, Institute of Computer Science. Her research interests include game-based learning, adapation technologies for teaching and training systems, cognitive models of users, ubiquitous and pervasive learning and system engineering.
Antonella Nuzzaci (University of L’Aquila – IT) – term of office 31 December 2017
is Associate Professor in Experimental Pedagogy at the Dept. of Human Studies of the Univ. of L’Aquila, where she chairs the Board of Educational Area, President of the Single Cycle Degree Programme in Primary Education Sciences (Primary Teacher Education) and Member of the Center for Quality Assurance of Ateneum. Her research is focused on cultural heritage education; the role of teachers’ skills with particular reference to digital (ICT) ones; evaluation and self-evaluation processes and quality benchmarking of higher education system. She is Managing Editor of the International Journal of Digital Literacy and Digital Competence (IJDLDC).

Matthias Rehm (Aalborg University – DK) – Deputy President – term of office 31 December 2019
is an Full Professor for Media Technology at the Faculty of Engineering and Science at Aalborg University, Denmark. His research is focused on modeling social, affective and cultural aspects of everyday behavior for intuitive and human centered technology including social robots, embodied conversational agents, as well as multimodal and mobile interaction. In 2010, he became founding and steering group member of Aalborg University’s cross-departmental Robotics program Aalborg U Robotics.
